back frm OB Singapore!
heyyy ppl~
*stops to scratch my stupid sandfly bites -.-*

"wah, sibeh irritating."

my whole body's sore and its covered with bruises and bitemarks,
but i couldn't be happier ;D
because i survived!

hmmm yeaa, there realli were times during the course that i felt super drained, physically, mentally and furthermore with joseph ng breathing down your back (LOL) you're bound to get somewhat frustrated.

but on one of the trekking trails, there was this OBS motivational banner which i thought was the main focus of the whole course to me:
"when all else fails, perseverance remains."

really spoke volumes to me, that as long as you persisted and tahaned through it all you can do anything.
because no matter how strong you are, how intelligent, fast, etc etc;
once you're tired and give up, what's the significance of all that now?
of no use at all if you're unwilling to go the distance.

perseverance is the only thing that holds fast throughout everything.
in OBS, you learn alot about yourself and your limits, how we're actually much more capable than we put ourselves to be ;P

so aanyway, on to what we did:
Day 1
on the first day, we basically took out our stores, like tent, waterbottle, etc etc.
the damn leceh thing was that we needed to pitch and unpitch our tents every single day throughout the course, cos everyday was a different campsite so yeaa, damn irritating.
just kayaked around on day 1, went into a mangrove swamp nearby in the island and looked at jellyfishes swimming around ;D

Day 2
last night our instructor Andy told us that from tuesday to thursday, it would be away from our base camp in the west and we would only return on thursday night, so we began our trek to another campsite on the southern end of pulau ubin;
turned out to be OBS Camp 1 which was realli nice, very well decorated etc etc and i still thought maybe got bunk to sleep~
BUT it was the tent again -.-
had high elements on that day, and the trekking in the beginning quite terok arh.
cos the haversack was incredibly heavy and haven gotten used to it yet, but in the later days it became pretty manageable (:

and joseph was displaying his massive intelligence when we pitched the tents; let me relate to y'all:

JOSEPH NG's NOBLE ACT
we were pitching up the tents and finally finished, then i put down my bag and crawled into the tent.
joseph, on the other hand, wore his friggin big haversack, waterbottle + poncho + everything else and just walked into the stupid tent, successfully snagging his bag onto the door and he din notice it.
therefore, he continued walking into the tent (when the tent's meant to be crawled into) and snapped the tent fabric that was held to the pole, and that was the only thing holding the tent up -.-

"oeiiii JOSEPH!!!"
*me, benny and sebastian frm new town screaming*
-swearing follows-

then in the middle of the night when we managed to somewhat repair the fabric, at 1230 the wind blew and the stupid thing went down again.
*wait for it....*
me: "wahhh, siann...."

proceeds to try and fix it, but i was so frustrated that i din care so i made quite alot of noise in fixing the thing.

i din i knw i woke up joseph in the process, and he thought that it was time to wake up orredy and began waking benny and sebastian when it was around 12, not 5 in the morning you IDIOT.
still rmb wad he said:
"ehh 5 orredy! wake up!!"

*stares at him*

ehh ____er, now wad time only la pls.....
"you sure?! you sure?!"
-shows him my watch-
"ooorrrh."
then he immediately goes back to sleep.

LOL.
3rd Day
began on our final 2-day land and sea expedition, consisting of the bukitbatok + newtown students, namely:
Junko
DaGama
Hilary
and Livingstone

used a cutter pull (a rowboat in other words) to row to some other spot before trekking the whole way back to another campsite, quite tired after this time round.
the rowing was fun though ;D

4th day
the last day of the expeditions, we trekked back to our original campsite which was abt half an hour away only and put our stuff down, before starting on a pretty long kayaking expedition from the west of the island (camp) to pulau sekudu, an island near the eastern end of ubin;
the scenery on that island was fantastic man~

was pretty tiring though, the kayaking.
who cares? at least can get tan ;D
budden on the way back, the weather became damn storm and it was pretty cold when we took shelter and waited there like morons with our ponchos ;P
*cant deny that some new town ppl are noisy -.-*
cos they're sec 3s only lah, so nvm give them chance.

after that, kayaked back through abit of rain and made it back to camp 2!

so that about sums up my course, the last day was just packing up and washing the stuff.

aaahhhh, i need to go find out wad i need to study and do before i go back to sch on mon ppl, cyaaas (:
