wow. i keep on forgetting to post, or probably cos im too lazy to and i cant use the comp too often, with my brother continually hogging it. but throughout the june hols, i think ive been pretty jam packed with stuff to do, like ispl and spec course and making of both the air rifle and class tees. just went to queensway to pick the class tee up today, and frankly the back SUCKS. it looks RETARDED, or like ying says, cartooney. i agree. like, wth. they even filled in the wrong colours at the wrong places, at the hilt of the sword. hmm. im really considering asking for a reprint or a refund. but just hope that they will, though. oh ya. at spec course, it was pretty fun, i guess. the first 2 days we went to SISPEC, the school of infantry specialists, to look at their weapons and play play with them. kinda fun, though. hehehs. although the lectures were hypnotic, the bunks at SISPEC were fantastic, compared to the crap at amoy quee. then on the last 2 days, had our army ncc badge test and the passing out ceremony during the last day.
The Specialist Creed
I am a Specialist of the National Cadet Corps.
I serve with pride and dedication.
I excel in my specialist duties, ensure the discipline of my cadets and will nurture them to their potential.
I overcome difficulties with my adventurous spirit.
I will uphold the prestige of the National Cadet Corps to be the premiere uniformed group in Singapore.
at the end of the course, i got my 2SG rank, along with shengquan. sadly, the rest of the platoon only got 3SG but that doesnt mean a thing. just cos theyre 3rd sgt, doesnt mean that theyre lousier than us, or less capable at leadership roles. rank, its just a piece of cloth that doesnt mean a thing, it doesnt determine who is better or more superior. rank is what you wear, but respect is what you earn. even if you have a big rank, but no one respects you, then what's the use? it'll just be an empty victory. either way, i'm still real proud of all of them for getting the rank of specialist.
hmm, so school just opened and we went for air rifle competition. dont feel like talking about it too much. and the previous friday, i just had my first training as a specialist. lemme tell you, its NOT easy at all being a spec. taking charge, its definitely harder than it looks. somemore, we just got screwed by augustine that training for not screwing the juniors, because we were way too soft on them. cos we were kinda apprehensive whether or not we should be good on the first training, or harsh on them. so yah, now we know how to handle them, so next training should be pretty enjoyable for the specs.
