hi, all. been on a 4 day long hiatus on the NCC Mt Ophir expedition, so was missing for quite a long while. man, i just burned out 4 days of the hols, now i cant finish up the crazy amounts of hw given by all the freakin subjects...hmm. wad can i say about the expedition? it was a pretty enriching experience, realli something worthwhile. so i'll continue on wad we all did in those 4 days, yup?

first "day"(night actually) sunday night
on the first day, we all had to stayover at HQ NCC at amoy quee camp for 1 night, to make sure that all of us were there and to do some admin stuff, briefing, things like that. so, we were briefed on the expedition, how it was going to be like, and the itinerary for the whole trip. after that we went off to sleep in our bunks and that was about it for the first night.

official first day of the expedition: monday
on monday, we had our breakfast in singapore and then we headed off for the Gunung Ledang resort in malaysia, somewhere arnd malacca there. we reached there at about 11, i think? late morning-early afternoon, i guess. after reaching there we unpacked our stuff into our rooms, and went off for some ice breaking games. ( in case y'all din know, we went with other schools, so in total we had roughly 70-odd ppl. ) the ice breakin was things like flying fox, rock climbing (these 2 were pretty fun, especially flying fox)and a jungle obstacle course, which was where alot of ppl got injuries from. adrian was bein an arse throughout the first day, tryin to act cool and be cold towards ppl. some more, 1 pathetic thing abt him. the rock climbing wall, which EVERYONE climbed finish, even the girls, he QUIT from it. he was like, so near the top and yet he just said he had no more strength. wth. wad a lame excuse. loser. after that we had our lunch and dinner at the resort, the food was damn nice, then so the next morning we were supposed to start climbing orredy, so we all unpacked our bags and made them slightly lighter. to those ppl who are goin to ophir, RMB to bring extra canned food or just some more food. cos its CONFIRM not enough. the rations that they give you are enough, just enough to get you through. there was even another school who went through all their food, so they realli had nothing left to eat.

second day
on the second day, we started the climb at 7 something in the morning, and we reached the midway point, Checkpoint 4, which was a campsite there. the targeted time was about 12 noon, but we all reached there at abt 1030. in other words, WEST DISTRICT ROX!! xD the climb up was kinda tiring, but nothing too extremely strenuous. from when we reached, we had until 630 for our briefing, meanin we had 7 odd hours of free time. like, wth...what to do for 7 hrs plus? we went to bathe in the river, which was friggin cold...like freezing water, some more the riverbed was full of rocks, and was pretty darn slippery. again, injuries~~ (bruises on my kneecaps from sliding down and kena-ing myself) and at the campsite, the toilet is truly the worst toilet i've ever seen in my life. you can smell the stench like, 10 plus metres away, some more you can really see the shit in the hole, along with the flies and concentrated piss. ECCH. man, i pity the girls who went to the expedition, cos i dunno how they could've squatted and pissed in that friggin toilet. the meals there at the campsite, are just maggi upon maggi upon maggi upon maggi until you sian of that friggin cup noodle. what's more, the maggi makes you piss cos of the MSG inside, and then you have to go to the bloody toilet which really can make ppl faint. then at night, it got realli damn cold, that when you sleep at night your feet sorta freeze up. but before we slept, all of the guys, (haikal, shafiq, jiayong, joe, me, sq, joseph and junyang) went into jiayong's tent and talked private stuff until it was time to sleep. the next day, we were going all the way to the summit at CP 8, and come back down to CP4 to rest for the day.

third day
today, we were going to climb from the campsite all the way up to the summit at 5 in the morning, when it was pitch dark. not too safe trekking through a jungle trail when you cant see a thing. the hardest part so far from the expedition frm CP1 to now, was KFC. (killing fields centre, not the fast food joint.) its a 1km long 45 degree angled trail, and if you fall that's pretty much it. there's actually 3 layers, all concealed by each other. so its like, after you climb finish the first staircase, you think that that's it. but when you turn to the left, theres just another trail, exactly the same if not harder. then after that one, theres STILL another last one left. the easy way to climb it was atually to jump up the tree roots, but me, being a dumbass, went to climb it instead. meaning, realli climb it. cling on like a fool and crawl up. >.<....then i ended up being much more tired than the rest, but at least i still got there quite fast, still in the first group. the ones at the end everytime were like, muhammad and zhijia. man, zhijia shouldn't be here at all, frankly. he actually stumbled upon going to the expedition by chance, and end up causing quite alot of trouble for us on the trip cos of his size. the climb up was really tiring, and without will power i dont think anyone could make it to the top. but when you make it to the summit, the sense of achievement is really alot, you feel like after this, nothing is impossible. the climb down is much much more tougher than the climb up, cos youre goin downwards, so much more liable to slide down all the way and injure yourself. but junyang had a fever cos of the cold weather the previous night, so he got sent down all the way to the resort instead of going to the checkpoint. at least he made it to the summit. x) so after that, just washed up, ate the friggin maggi mee and slacked around for a long time, since west made it up and down the summit the fastest so far. now tired like hell, so we slacked in our tents and talked rubbish again.

fourth day
on thursday, we made it down all the way from the campsite to CP1, the resort. so after that we bought our souvenirs and made our way back to singapore. reached kranji mrt at abt 530, from there went home and slacked, cos too tired to do anything. so thats about what i did for the past few days.

after coming back to singapore, on the next day, friday, went over to sherrie's hse to do history project. had quite a fun time there, finishing up the project and slacking around, talking. hmm, sherrie's got quite a nice house too. x) the next day went to join sherrie's cell group meeting, which was pretty interesting. met quite alot of ppl dere too, xD

so yea, now i got lots of hw to rush....cy'all when sch reopens tml!
